As Home Sales Fall, Rent to Own Opportunities Rise   by Kyle Sugerak

During the height of the residential real estate boom, finding rent to own homes was no easy task. Owners were selling their homes within days of putting them on the market, often for list price. Homes blessed with a strong location sometimes even fetched final sales above list price thanks to the bidding wars that erupted around them.

Back then, few homeowners even considered offering their homes on a rent to own basis. After all, if they could sell them within weeks for top dollar, what was the incentive to rent out their residences?

A Whole New Home Frontier

Today, that trend has drastically changed. Homeowners are struggling to sell their homes, even those located in hot neighborhoods.
